Smart kid update: last night, Sam started to do the "eenie-meenie-miney-mo" thing to choose between his two toothbrushes for the nightly teethbrush. Anna cut him off about two seconds into it, pointed at one toothbrush, and said: "It's that one." When I asked her how she knew already, she said that she just took a minute to figure it out once: whichever of two things you start the "eenie-meenie" thing with, that is the one that you'll eventually pick after you eliminate the other one. And how come I never thought of that before?

Jan 2010--50th ANNIVERSARY SURPRISE PARTY!
THE BIG EVENT in JAN. was that the Emma, Adam, and Mark snuck out to Buffalo, New York both to see JEFF, SUE, and CAREN in Buffalo, and to be there in Syracuse for a SURPRISE 50th ANNIVERSARY PARTY for my Dad and Mom (and thanks to Erin for the idea). It all went off without a hitch thanks to Jeff and Sue's hospitality and Caren's terrific planning and it was both a total surprise for Mom and Dad, and a total success in that about 50 of their friends from Syracuse were able to sneak over to their home to surprise them when they came back from dinner with their friends Dino and Annette.
